The Bruins feature one of the top players in the Class of 2024 in David Castillo. This 6-foot-2 point guard can do it all, but one thing he does great is shoot. Head coach Clent Stewart said of Castillo, “he’s an unselfish, do-it-all guard.”
We caught up with Castillo to learn more about this sophomore with a bright future ahead.
VYPE: David, how long have you been playing basketball?
Castillo: I’ve been playing basketball for as long as I can remember.
VYPE: Being a student-athlete at Bartlesville High School has to be fun for you. What do you enjoy most about it?
Castillo: What I love most about being a student-athlete at school is being treated just like everybody else and not just like a basketball player and having my friends around me to help with school or anything I have problems with.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
Castillo: My friends mean a ton to me. They keep basketball exciting and bring a bunch of joy to the game.
VYPE: Away from sports, what do you enjoy doing?
Castillo: Spending time with family.
