Bartlesville’s Logan Vaclaw – Fine Arts Spotlight – Presented by Patriot Auto Group

Logan Vaclaw has been a performer his entire life. Upon entering the sixth grade, he decided to add his talents to the academic side and join the choir.

“I started choir in sixth grade, but I’ve been singing my whole life. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed doing, so joining choir was one way I could bring that passion to my academics,” said Vaclaw.

Getting comfortable with his new surroundings and performing in front of his peers did take some time, but now he is a veteran at it and has enjoyed some memorable moments.
“It took me a little bit to get comfortable with performing, but now that I’ve grown more comfortable on stage, I love to perform any chance I can get,” said Vaclaw. “My favorite performance was in the school’s production of “Into the Woods” where I performed Agony as one of the princes.”

It’s no surprise for those who know him that choir has been his favorite subject in school.

“I’ve been fortunate to have great teachers through my entire choir tenure who have helped me grow not only vocally, but as a person,” said Vaclaw.

The senior also plays football for the Bruins and said he loves being around his team and teammates.

“I love the atmosphere of brotherhood that we’ve created on our team. Players on the offensive and defensive side of the ball might get chippy in practice, but the way we all band together as brothers on Friday nights says a lot about that culture we’ve built,” said Vaclaw. “Being a student-athlete is special to me because it takes a certain amount of drive to be able to balance the demands of not only school, but athletics as well. It shapes my work ethic.”

After high school Vaclaw plans to serve on a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Later he would like to pursue a career in music.

“If the right opportunity were to present itself, I would love to pursue a career in music. I played with a band over the summer, and we did a couple of gigs, and it was a really fun experience,” said Vaclaw.

In his free time you can find the senior hanging out with friends and watching OU football or the Cleveland Browns. He also loves watching Star Wars and Marvel movies.
