Tiffiny Munn
Madison Middle School
Madison Middle School teacher Tiffiny Munn is a graduate of Broken Arrow High School
and the University of Phoenix. Munn started her career as an educator in August of 2020.
Prior to become a teacher, Munn worked with the district for several years and was
inspired by her peers to become an educator.

“I was a paraprofessional in the district for 14 years before I decided to return to school to
get my degree. All the teachers I worked with at Madison inspired me to become a teacher.
I look up to them and respect what they do, and they all encouraged me to further my
education and strive for a fulfilling, lifelong career,” said Munn.

Keeping her students interested and engaged is something Munn works tirelessly to
accomplish. Munn is known for being creative in the classroom.

“I have one rule for myself – if I’m bored, the students are definitely bored. I do my best to
make lessons that are not only educational but fun at the same time. I want students talking
about the objective, discussing the problems/solutions, and genuinely enjoy the work they
are doing. I do a lot of project-based learning. If I can make a lesson hands-on, I will work
overtime to make that happen. I want my students to think outside of the box, use their
imaginations and dig deeper than they know they can,” said Munn.

For Munn, the reward in the job comes from the kids she teaches.
“The most rewarding part of my job is when students come back to see me during their
8th-grade year, or even when they are in high school, and talk about a specific activity we
did or some other thing they remembered from my class. Teaching is not black and white. I
am always evolving and creating new exciting lessons to keep my students engaged. It’s
nice to know that all the hard work I put in mattered to them and that they remembered
some of the things we did in class,” said Munn.

Teaching in the Bartlesville school district has been a great experience for Munn, from the
administration to the parents, Munn said BPS is a special place.

“Bartlesville Public School District is a special place to teach because I feel supported
every single day. I feel the support from my fellow staff members, administration, and
parents. Support is so important. I have never felt alone in this job. I have never felt like I
could not go to my admin with an issue.  I feel that every time I reach out to parents, they
go above and beyond to support my classroom,” said Munn.

In her free time, you can usually find Munn reading a good book or grabbing a nap when
the mood hits.
