Bartlesville’s Brenden Asher Presented by Ascension St. John

Brenden Asher

Bartlesville High School

As a program, Bartlesville High School has three state titles in baseball over the school’s history. The first came in 1969,followed by two titles in the ‘80s, 1980 and 1985. Players like Brenden Asher are not focused on the past and the last time the Bruins won it all, Asher is focused on this season and what it will take to make 2024 a memorable season for the Bruin family.

“The goal this season is to give every game 100 percent effort and end up with a state title,” said Asher.

The 2024 season marks Asher’s final year of prep baseball before he takes his talents to the next level. That being the case, Asher wants to improve his approach to the game and to be a leader for his team and his teammates.

“The thing I have improved most this off season is the kind of teammate I am,” said Asher.

Asher will play shortstop and pitch for the Bruins this season. With tremendous defensive skills and solid pitching from the mound, Asher will play a pivotal role in the success of the team. But developing strong bonds with his teammates and building a culture of winning is what he loves the most about this group.

“The thing I love most about my teammates is the culture we have and how we play for each other every game,” said Asher.

For Asher, the student in student-athlete is possible thanks to the support of his teachers.
“The thing I love most about being a student-athlete at BHS is that even though we stay busy the teachers are usually pretty flexible with our schedules and give us extra time for the most part,” said Asher. “My favorite subject is history and I think if I had to pick a favorite teacher it would be Mrs. Rep.”

The start of the season is just around the corner and plans after graduation are in place and ready to go.

“After I graduate, I will continue my academic and athletic career at ORU,” said Asher.

Away from the diamond and school, Asher said he enjoys spending his free time hunting and fishing.
