2025 Bartlesville Bruins Football Preview – Presented by Ben Rainey – Shelter Insurance

BARTLESVILLE BRUINS

Coach: HARRY WRIGHT

3-8

OFFENSE

Entering the 2025 season, the Bruins and head coach Harry Wright have several positives to build upon. Now in his third season, coach Wright is looking forward to seeing what a several players with another year of development under their belts can do for the program. “Ended last season with several ninth graders playing, excited to see how much they have developed in the last year,” said coach Wright. The Bruins do return four-year starter John Torres (6-1, 205, Sr.) who will go both ways on the offensive and defensive lines. His play is key for the run game to be successful. Alongside Caiden Chambers (6-0, 235, Jr.), the Bruins running back, Sutton Williams (6-0, 195, Sr.) could have his best season on record. A three-year starter, Williams has developed into a solid RB and linebacker. While he may be considered a LB at the next level, improved speed in the offseason will certainly help him as a RB. Quarterback Michael Kent (6-1, 185, So.) started every game as a freshman and took over the QB spot with three games remaining in the season. Kent went 2-1 in that stretch and has added some weight and strength in the offseason. Kent has two excellent targets in EJ Belisle (6-1, 170, So.) and Harrison Ketchum (6-2, 190, Sr.). Both players are key in the multiple set offense the Bruins will run.

DEFENSE

Williams is a standout player at linebacker and someone who can force an opposing offense to adjust their game. Quick running sideline-to-sideline, Williams will have some help at linebacker from Davin Carter (5-9, 165, Jr.) and Biden Roberts (6-2, 215, Jr.). Both players will start at outside linebacker giving the Bruins some speed on the edge. Also look for Shawn Thrasher (5-10, 195, Sr.) to be that run stopper in the middle. The Bruins will base in a 3-4, playing fast and physical. The secondary will include Belisle and Ivan Griffith (5-9, 175, Sr.). Belisle brings good speed to the corner spot while Griffith brings speed and the ability to close quickly on the ball. Griffith could be the answer at one of the safety spots for the Bruins.
