Regan Patzkowski
Bartlesville High School
Bartlesville High School senior Regan Patzkowski is a member of the varsity swim team.
Swimming is a sport she has grown up participating in since the first grade. Now the senior
us looking forward to her final year of competing in high school.
“This season the Bruin girls are training hard, and the goal is to take state this year. We’ve
always been a close team and we have a good competitive environment. Right now, we’re
in the middle of our winter training, prepping for our big spring competitions,” said
Patzkowski.
The team has a special bond, and they grow closer with each practice and meet. It’s one
aspect of being on the team that Patzkowski enjoys.
“I love the friendship and comradery I have with my teammates. It always makes practices
better knowing they’ll be there with me,” said Patzkowski. “I love being a student-athlete at
BHS because it is a great group to be a part of, and it has taught me many important life
skills such as teamwork, hard work, time management, and leadership.”
Swimming is not the only passion Patzkowski has. She’s a member of National Honor
Society, and BHS Green, which is a group devoted to raising environmental awareness
through recycling.
Patzkowski said she is looking forward to attending college in the future, but for now she is
focused on her team and her studies.
“My favorite subjects are Chemistry and Math, which is probably due to my favorite
teachers Mr. Laymen and Mrs. Anderson,” said Patzkowski. “I’m planning on going to
college and going into either chemical or biological engineering.”
In her free time you can find the senior trying new recipes cooking or baking, getting into a
good book, watching movies, or simply hanging out with friends and family.
