BARTLESVILLE BRUINS
Coach: Clent Stewart
22-23 Record: 9-13
Bartlesville will be led by seniors Riley Duong, Cooper Wood (6-4, C) and Caleb Rogers (6-4, F) under head coach ClentStewart in 2023-24. The Bruins, who will be without standout combo guard David Castillo, a Kansas State commit who opted to transfer to Sunrise Christian in Wichita, Kansas after averaging around 25 points per game, will also lean on guards Trae Collins and Eli Robertson. Collins (5-6, So.) will give Bartlesville a legitimate shooting threat.“Trae will play major minutes this year as a sophomore,” said Stewart, who will be in his 10th year at Bartlesville. “What he lacks in size, he makes up with IQ and shooting ability. We look for him to have a breakout season for us.” Robertson (5-11, Sr.) is a lockdown defender who missed all of last season due to injury. “Eli is coming off an early season ACL tear from last year. He is consistently proven to be our best defender and looks to expand his offensive game this year after sitting out all oflast year,” Stewart said. Senior Riley Duong (5-11, G) will be the Bruins’ offensive catalyst and is a VYPE Top 100 nominee. Duong was at his best as a long-range shooter over the Bruins’ final 10 games last season.
“He’s a senior leader and one of the better shooters in the district,” Stewart said. “Riley finished the last 10 games last year shooting 43% from three-point range. This year he will assume the role of a playmaker and a primary scorer.” Other guards on the roster are Grant Clark (6-3, Sr.), Colton Modisette (5-10, Jr.), Nash Zervas (5-9, Jr.), Hudson Eads (5-9, So.), Skyler Carter (5-9, So.) and Dennis Duncan (5-9, So.). Jacob Veit (6-3, F, Jr.) and Jesse Taylor (6-3, C, Jr.) will also be in the Bartlesville frontcourt. Assistant coaches for Bartlesville are Mark Winston, Gerald Thompson, Heath Deaton and Barron Tanner.
