Q&A with Bartlesville’s Cadence Dagenais – Presented by Patriot Auto

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?
Cadence: My goal is to finish with all A’s and get accepted into the colleges I’m interested in.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Cadence: Some things cheer has taught me is how to properly communicate with others, problem solve, and how to balance multiple things at once.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Cadence: My favorite teacher was Ms. Burrows in 4th and 5th grade. She was super sweet to me and helped whenever I needed it. One memory I have was her helping me dress up as Cindy Lou Who and ended up winning a book.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Cadence: One person that inspires me is my dad. He has always pushed me to do my best and knows what will make me better for the future. He stands by me through everything and he’ll always be there for me when I need him. He has overcome so many things that I’m not sure I’d be able to do.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Cadence: The teammate who has left the biggest impression on me has to be Chloe Whittsit. She has been there since the moment I moved here and I feel as though we have both impacted each other in many ways. She also always strives to do her best even when things get tough.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Cadence: Being on a team with others has created such a great bond in such little time. My favorite thing has to be building each other up no matter the situation.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Cadence: The best athlete in my family besides myself was probably my dad. He did wrestling and never fails to tell me how good he was at it. He was 3rd in all city of Wichita. He also was a baseball player and later on became a coach to youth players.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
Cadence: If I could do another sport it would probably be gymnastics. I think I fit the qualities that it takes to be a gymnast and I feel like I really would have thrived in that environment.

VYPE: What profession would you like to work in?
Cadence: I would love to be a dermatologist. I think my mom has definitely impacted the way I want to go about my future career. She branched out into the medical field and became very successful.
