Bartlesville’s Julia Osburn – Girls Tennis – Presented By RibCrib

Julia Osburn is a competitor on the tennis court. Whenever she steps onto the court, she is focused and ready to compete. She has had some memorable experiences during her time playing tennis but says that she does have a favorite memory.

“The highlight of my career has been qualifying for state for the past two years,” she stated.

“Regionals always have tough opponents but the sense of accomplishment of qualifying for State is always worth the effort.”

That effort that she speaks of is something that she knows is important to continue to grow as an athlete.

“In order to be successful in tennis, it has taken a lot of time and consistent effort,” she said.

“Spending the offseason practicing, attending clinics and tournaments, as well as year-round cross-training, has helped my game significantly. I keep myself focused by staying motivated.

My biggest motivation is the sense of accomplishment that I feel when I achieve something that was tough to accomplish.”

Osburn is a senior at Bartlesville High School. Along with being on the tennis team, she is also a nmember of the National Honor Society and she is also involved with a local running group. Julia’s tennis coach at Bartlesville, Bryan Reese, says that she is an outstanding tennis player and teammate.

“Julia is a senior that has played every spot possible for us for the last few years,” Reese said.

“She is one of the toughest players I have ever coached. She runs down every ball and never gives up. Trains and runs marathons during tennis season and never complains.”

Being able to wear the Bartlesville colors when she competes is something that Osburn does not take lightly and is proud to be able to do.

“Representing Bartlesville when I play is always a privilege,” Julia said. “Our tennis team is well established and has been very accomplished throughout the years, so being able to play my part in maintaining these standards is something I am proud of.”
