Bartlesville’s Will Bolding – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Green Country Village

An athlete can create a lot of memories throughout the span of their career. Whether it is something that happened on the court or field or it was just hanging out with teammates away from the game, these memories will stick with them for a long time.

William Bolding is a junior at Bartlesville High School. As a member of the Bruins’ tennis team, his favorite moment was reaching a milestone in his career.

“The highlight moment of my tennis career was qualifying for state last year,” he recalled. “It was something I had worked for and looked forward to since I was a freshman.”

Bolding has had a few people that have been influential in his life and helped him become the person and the athlete that he is today.

“My biggest role models are my parents,” he said. “They are always making sure that I’m staying on the right path. My teammates and coaches definitely motivate me not only to become better at my sport but also to do better in school. And in the classroom, the teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life is Mrs. Henderson. She has taught me a lot about having a good work ethic.”

He has invested a lot of time and effort continually working on his game. He knows that is what it takes to become his best.

“In tennis, it takes a lot of practice and focus to get better,” Bolding stated. “You have to be able to change little things in your game.”

Wearing the Bartlesville colors when he is on the tennis court is not something that Williams takes lightly. He knows that he is competing for more than just himself.

“It means a lot to be able to represent Bartlesville on the court because I am also representing all of the people that have come before me,” he said. “It gives you something that you need to live up to.”

When it comes to social media, Bolding has someone that he really enjoys keeping up with the
most.

“My favorite person I follow on social media is probably Roger Federer,” Bolding said. “This is
because he is always a positive figure and he’s also my favorite tennis player, even though he’s
now retired.”
