Bartlesville Tennis – Brook Franks – Presented By Skyway Honda

Brook Franks has played tennis for quite some time and it has become an important part of her life. While she enjoys playing the game of tennis, she is also thankful for the other aspects of it as well.

“I have made some great friendships with my teammates,” she stated. “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to play with these last few years and I have been blessed to play with multiple partners. I also am so grateful for some amazing club and school coaches that have believed in me. I would also like to recognize my parents and family for all their support. I appreciate the time we had together as we traveled to tennis tournaments across the state.”

Franks is a junior at Bartlesville, but this will be her final season to play tennis for the Lady Bruins because she will be graduating in December.

Throughout her career, Brook has put in countless hours so that she can be at her best when she steps out on the court. She says that even when the conditions are not ideal, you still have to put in the work.

“In order to be successful in tennis, it requires a lot of hard work,” Franks said. “My teammates and I are practicing all year round, when it’s over 100 degrees or when it’s under 32 degrees you will still find us on the courts. Having a partner in doubles motivates me because I want to do my best for my partner.”

As she reflects back on her career to this point, Brook has made some outstanding memories, a few of which stand out to her.

“Going to state as a freshman was one of my favorite highlights,” she said. “I just started playing tennis in the seventh grade. In Eighth grade, we were shut down due to covid so I had no idea I would get to play varsity as a freshman, let alone have an amazing partner that helped us qualify for state. I also had the wonderful opportunity to take lessons with the teaching pro Pat Richie. He was a tremendous help as I learned about tennis and how to play the game. I even worked with Pat’s wife Linda in the pro shop where I met other fans of the sport.”
