VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?
Sawyer: My goals for the team are to stay strong and keep working hard as we begin district play and facing better teams. My goal is to help and encourage them to stay on track and remember that we are a team with real potential.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Sawyer: The most fun I’ve had this year was riding a train to California this past summer.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?
Sawyer: My favorite teacher is my Medicine and Bioscience teacher at Tri County Tech this year, Casey Woods. She works really hard for the students, and it is evident how much she cares about their education. She understands that things do not always go perfect, and she is very graceful.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Sawyer: It’s really fun when most recently when we were ahead, that I played in the field and it’s always fun to see how excited and supportive my teammates are when I’m in the field to help me score.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Sawyer: Eva Sigler has always been an inspiration to me. When we all started playing club soccer, she was playing up 2 years on the 04 team and always worked so hard and competed at the same level. Her skill is evident, and she always encourages others to work harder in practice and be the best that they can. It has been really influential to watch her grow into a key player for us in games.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Sawyer: No one really impersonates Kuntz, except for our assistant coach, Abby, but she definitely does the best ones. While I’m in the back line I don’t hear a lot except for what my back line says, and Lexi Smith always has something funny to say.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Sawyer: If I could go anywhere for summer vacation, I would go anywhere with white sandy shores and crystal blue waters. I would take my family and some of my closest friends.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 dollars and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Sawyer: I would spend half of the money towards college and use the rest to buy Nike Dunks.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Sawyer: I’d like to thank my teammates for always working hard and for each other.
