Bartlesville soccer player Riley Waits enters her sophomore season with high expectations for herself. Head coach Aaron Kuntz said Waits is a type of unsung hero every team needs.
For the last 11 years, soccer has been the focus for Waits. Soccer and grades. Being part of the varsity team at Bartlesville High School is a dream come true for the underclassman.
“Being a student-athlete is a lot of fun. Being able to play soccer with older friends and being able to represent my school sport with my team is something I enjoy doing,” said Waits.
Making an impact is important to Waits and being there for her teammates has always been a top priority. Waits said the players for Bartlesville are building special bonds that will only make them better on the field.
“My teammates mean a lot to me they have my back and I have theirs. If they need anything I’ll do my best to help. I can trust them so very much,” said Waits.
Away from school you can usually find Waits hanging out with her friends.
“I really enjoy playing pick-up soccer games and other activities. Doing things with my cousins and family,” said Waits.
Look for Waits and her teammates this season as the Lady Bruins take on a tough schedule this spring.
