Bartlesville’s Lindsey Goodno
The community of Bartlesville has a great support system thanks to parent involvement and people like Lindsey Goodno.
Goodno is a mother of six and everyone in some activity that requires the family to be in multiple places at once. Daughter Ava is a senior and captain of the varsity pom squad while son Tristen is a junior and a member of the baseball team. Taylor is a sophomore and works as an athletic trainer for Bartlesville High School and is a member of National Honor Society. Layla is in the 8th grade and is a member of the Junior National Honor Society. Tatum, the seventh grader, is in musical theater and is in Junior National Honor Society like Layla. Finally, Dylan is four and playing soccer.
For Goodno, being involved is a passion for her and the family.
“For me, it’s being a part in something each of them is passionate about. Also getting a quick hug or a high five from my kids and their friends when I drop off food for the team or working gates and concessions during games. Hosting team bonding events and seeing all the laughs. Those are moments I wouldn’t get if I wasn’t a part of the activities,” said Goodno.
As a volunteer for the varsity baseball team, Goodno serves as team treasurer for the program.
“I make sure coach price has money to spend on the program. I also help with media day, working gates and concession, and delivering food for away games,” said Goodno.
For the Goodno family, Bartlesville is exactly where they want to be. Lindsey is a Bartlesville alumnus and a graduate of OKWU.
“I’m a Bartian! I’ve lived here practically my whole life and couldn’t imagine raising my family anywhere else. Bartlesville is my forever home,” said Goodno.
Goodno believes being involved with your kid’s activities is important.
“The more you’re involved, the more you know! You get to know the coaches, parents and kids on a different level. I’ve made lifelong friends getting to know parents by being involved in my kid’s sports,” said Goodno.
Even if it means there is little free time for anything else.
“When we’re not at practices, games, performances or dance competitions, my favorite spot is my backyard in our pool with my family. I also love doing puzzles and gardening,” said Goodno.
The mother of six also serves as president of the Bartlesville varsity pom booster, she helps coordinate meals for the athletic trainers and works the school sport physicals which is a fundraiser for the athletic training program.
