Bartlesville High School sophomore, Allie Scullawl, found her happy place in the game of softball.
“Softball means a lot to me. Every time I step onto the field my mind goes blank and I focus on the game I enjoy playing,” said Allie.
Holding her first softball at the young age of four, Allie knew there was something special there for her.
“I got into softball because I realized how competitive I am and how much I enjoy being active,” Allie said. “I love putting myself to work knowing I can really be as good as I want to be one day.”
Playing shortstop for the team, Allie is happy to be playing her favorite position.
“I really enjoy playing my position because I know I am good at it,” Allie said. “It is definitely my favorite position and I love getting to play back enough where I can throw the ball further and faster. It is almost like me and my position are best friends because I just know that spot so well.”
Growing up playing softball for the majority of her life, Allie has a plethora of wonderful memories, but looking back over the years there is one memory that sticks out to her in particular.
“My favorite memory is definitely getting to play one of our biggest rivals, Dewey,” Allie said. “That game everyone was up on their feet, hyped the whole time, everyone cheering and doing the best they could.”
Even with a few more years to go in high school, Allie is still planning for her future. After high school she has dreams of attending college while hopefully getting the opportunity to play softball and continue playing the sport she has loved for a lifetime.
